It's hard to know what to do when I look at the scenes from Afghanistan. My heart breaks for the people who are trying to flee, especially the women and children. If you feel the same way, and if you were going to buy me a present for my birthday this year - or take me out for a cuppa - I'd love it if you instead supported the Auckland Refugee Family Trust. There are a number of people who came over to NZ as refugees who are now trying to bring their loved ones in Afghanistan to Aotearoa. These people have visas, all they need is financial support to bring them here. The Auckland Refugee Family Trust are supporting these families and doing all that they can to reunite them. As I sit here writing this, I'm in my very warm and safe house in Level 4 lockdown. I'm surrounded by stuff and I have more than I need if truth be told. If you were going to give me something then instead please give to the Auckland Refugee Family Trust. It will be the best gift I receive this birthday.
