This year I decided that instead of getting presents for my birthday, I would pledge it to Seed Waikato. I chose to do this because I noticed that people, especially teens, get so caught up in what to get each other for their birthdays and don't tend to focus on the celebration itself. I wanted to show that you can be happy without all the unnecessary stuff, and just be happy by helping others instead. Seed Waikato is a movement that aims to unite young people under a common vision. To build a collective who redefine what it means to be young, here and now. Who challenge, inspire, and encourage each other. To create and highlight the spaces and opportunities needed to make the vision a reality. They have helped me so much through their mentoring, support and friendship. So, I am excited for the opportunity to give back and help them.
