The gift of beating disease
As always, I don't need or wish for birthday gifts. But if you'd like to give some birthday joy, I always love seeing donations to awesome causes. Why am I fundraising for Malaghan Institute of Medical Research? So many of my friends and family have been affected over the past couple of years by cancers and infectious diseases, including the excruciatingly long tail of Covid-19. The team at. Malaghan are doing world leading research (right here in NZ) to help prevent people suffering and dying from diseases we don't know enough about. Their amazing work benefits us all. Aroha nui xx PS - the picture is of Covid-19!!
Trees for Christine's B'day
I'm looking forward to celebrating another momentous loop around the sun with my all-time favourite people - yay! I'm hoping we can make my celebrations Carbon Zero this year, so please don't buy me gifts. (There's nothing I need!) If you'd like to, you could help Sustainable Coastlines plant more trees to off-set our wine-miles.. Every $10 we donate plants another tree. And who doesn't love trees?! :)
GoodYogaVibesAndXmas
Thank you for your koha Lalla and the Plunket yogis - and to anyone who'd like to give me the gift of giving this Xmas :)
Christine's B'day 2020
If you'd like to make a donation to Para Kore, you'll be giving me an added shot of birthday joy and be giving some kindness to the planet too! Para Kore's vision is all Marae working towards zero waste. They deliver FREE education and training on marae to create behaviour change that aligns with the principles of a circular economy, by eliminating waste in the planning process, sorting waste so that as little as possible goes to landfill and educating whānau about how to reduce plastic and recycling. Para Kore is grounded in relationships with and whakapapa to Papatūānuku, Ranginui me ō rāua uri. We only have one planet Earth - let's show her our love :)
Christmas, Yoga and all things Good
I absolutely love the work of the Common Unity Project Aotearoa, gifting meals to schools, womens refuges and Marae, using locally and lovingly grown produce from community gardens and prison gardens. Every $10 can provide three nourishing meals, and change lives. Thank you for gifting on my behalf to this wonderful charity this Christmas :-)
